Van Halen’s Third Act: Where’s the Love?
Hi y’all, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, and some of you are new to my list and getting a post for the first time. Thanks for reading, and please feel free to unsubscribe if you’d like, whether through the site or by emailing me directly.
OK, so I’ve continued to write a bunch of reviews and features, and I’m also working on finally turning some of my napping content into a book. I’ve been pitching ambitious features like crazy and hope to have some updates on those soon.
But, at the risk of burying the lede, I’m MOST excited to share the piece I just wrote for Ultimate Guitar. It’s about my favorite band of all time, Van Halen, and their criminally overlooked third act with Gary Cherone. I think this was a super interesting time of creative output for Edward Van Halen (real fans never call him “Eddie”), and I’m grateful to Ultimate Guitar for providing me with the platform to share this.
Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
